I lead the research group at the Metaverse Lab (LiFT_C) at JKU Linz, Austria. Previously, I served as an Assistant Professor of Law at Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia, and co-coordinated the Design Lab for Justice (LabJusticia). I am a Fellow at GovTech Latam, a program by BID LAB and IE University, and a co-editor of the Legal Design Journal.
My doctoral research in Design and Digital Technologies at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute, University of Potsdam (Germany), centred on designing for digital justice. I explored the complex entanglement between people, law, and technologies within Chilean courts. By taking an interdisciplinary approach, my work addresses key questions about the governance of technology in judicial organisations and examines the tensions between the regulatory power of digital technologies and the traditional legal frameworks established by the State.

At Portable, I guide projects from problem identification to the delivery of practical, impactful solutions. My work spans designing services, developing innovative products, and implementing systemic interventions to drive change. I’ve collaborated with a diverse range of justice-sector organisations, including community legal centres, justice departments, court services, and start-ups.
A strong advocate for improving the legal system through design, I’ve facilitated workshops at institutions such as Melbourne Law School, Oxford University, and City Law School. I’ve also spoken at international events like the Legal Design Summit in Helsinki, the Legal Design Roundtable in Brussels, and the Sydney Designers Meetup. My written contributions include pieces in Design(s) for Law, Design in Legal Education, and the WALTA Playbook. Currently, I serve on the Macquarie University Law School Advisory Board and as a Director of the A2J Tech Network.
Before joining Portable, I gained wide-ranging experience in the legal sector across Australia and the UK. I’ve worked with pro bono clearinghouses, community legal centres, LegalTech start-ups, legal publishers, and R&D think tanks. These experiences deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by individuals seeking legal assistance and those working within the profession. Today, this understanding drives my work at Portable.
